Hello from Wisconsin USA!
Since this is my first blog I guess we should simply say Hi! Thanks for visiting this blog. I know that the blogosphere is huge and that there are thousands of dance teacher postings, so thanks for finding this one. My goal is to start a normal dialog between dance teachers. I think it's amazing that we don't talk with each other all that often. Maybe its because we are all so busy, but I think it's simply because we are all so competitive and a bit insecure. Afterall, what if someone questions your teaching technique or skills? What if they come to your recital and see a mistake? Perhaps this blog spot can be the start of a fine relationship.
Part of my reason for starting this blog is to learn more about Dance Teachers. I do own a dance studio as my "side job" and also started a publishing company called Releve' to produce dance posters and someday other tools for dance teachers. You can see them on my website at www.instructdance.com if you want to take a peek.
Both of those dance businesses are "side jobs" in the day I'm a PR person for a telecommunications company in Madison Wisc. And since I need to know more about how blogs work I decided to start blogging about what I love- Dance. Afterall that's what all the blog experts tell you to do. I just listened to a PR conference call with Seth Godin, you may or may not know he's like the god of Blogs. His blog is called Seth Godins Blog, in case you are interested. Anyway I took his advice and wall-a a Blog of my very own.
So, my big question is... Why do you teach dance? What's your unique story?
